On Thursday Wyffels held their 2018 Corn Strategies meeting in Loveland, Illinois. The first speaker of the day really put things into perspective for farmers.

Dr. Lowell Catlett spoke to the crowd and told them while you can look at trends and prepare for the future, you cannot predict it.
Dr. Catlett said farmers know how to navigate tough times better than any other industry.
Catlett says if agricultural technology hadn?t advanced when we needed it to and the way we needed it to, we couldn?t feed our current population. We would have needed as much land as China, Canada, and the U.S.
