Do not tremble, do not be afraid. Did I not proclaim this and foretell it long ago? You are My witnesses. Is there any God besides Me? Is there any other Rock? I know of none. -Isaiah 44:8

Today is election day! Before you roll your eyes, or let fear creep in over you… stop. There is hope, and this hope is the reason I am not worried about who gets elected president.

The church of Jesus Christ does not rise or fall on the fleshy back of this election, or any other that may come after it.

Regardless of who is elected today, our purpose as Christians does not change. No candidate, party, or protest can ever stop our purpose in life. The government is not ultimately in control of our safety, security, and future. God is.

The president will never change the followers of Jesus? mission. Our role on this earth stays the same, regardless of what the government does. How we live might change. Consequences for following Jesus could start rapidly occuring, but at the end of the day no one, but Jesus has the power to make any impactful change on our lives. No one. God has the final say.

As Christians our hope is not found in the next president, the next social program, or the next law, or anything else the government can do. Our hope is found in Christ alone.

He is bigger than electoral votes, campaign ads, or media bias. He is not bound by human authority nor is He swayed by it. His plan will continue to proceed according to His will, not mine. Even if I do not understand what is happening, I do not have to wring my hands in fear.

This is not our kingdom. This is not our home. No matter who is president Jesus is King! He is not only King of Kings, but He is King of president’s too.

Friend, remember….. In God, We Trust. Trust Him always, especially today! He knows what He is doing. Continue to live out your mission. Love God, love others, and make disciples whether the President of the United States is Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump.

Prayer: “Lord, I trust you. Thank you that no matter who is president you are King. You reign supreme. I pray that your will be done today. I pray for voters, Christians, and for the person who will be leading this country. In Jesus name, Amen!”
