On Wednesday, the western leg of the Pro Farmer Midwest Crop Tour went out in the cold and rain to scour the western third of Iowa in crop districts 1, 4, and 7.

Jeff Wilson is the western tour lead. He talked about some of the concerns coming into Iowa, especially after some of the trials faced early this spring, and how it has affected some crops.

He tells us about some of the surprises we saw in the corn yields and some of the concerns.

Soybeans also were a mixed bag, with some gains and losses in total pod counts.

Wilson says it is going to take sun, time, and a late frost to really bring this crop home.
