Warmer, wetter April could be in store across Midwest

Much of our focus has been on the flooding in Nebraska and Southwest Iowa these past few weeks. However, there is a lot more Iowa to worry about. What about the places between the rivers? What is going to be in store for them as the time for planting draws ever closer?

As mother nature is slowly laying out her plans for 2019, people a whole lot smarter than I are trying to make predictions. Eric Snodgrass is the Senior Atmospheric Scientist with Nutrien. He says this April is shaping up to be a contrast from the last. April 2018 saw cooler temps. April 2019 is shaping up to be warm and wet for the eastern two-thirds of the country.

This means already narrow planting windows in the Midwest could be made even tighter.

Of course, Mother nature gives not one care for what we humans might think and does whatever she wants.
