Is it too early to talk about a 2023 Farm Bill?

The person elected president next year should still be in the White House in 2023. There will be a reshuffling of Congress by then.

Some say Colin Peterson, current chair of the House Agriculture Committee, will leave at the end of his term and we know Pat Roberts, chair of the Senate Ag Committee, will end his long tenure in Congress next year.

Some themes of a new form of farm legislation, under an unknown administration with unknown leaders, is emerging.

The one painting this picture is former Iowa governor and former U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack.
