Cattle produce greenhouse gasses. That is a fact. How much they produce is in question, especially in the United States versus other countries.

The veggie burger industry has decided to capitalize on fear of global warming by saying cattle are one of the most destructive technologies on the planet. An unlikely ally from California has stepped forward to defend beef production in the United States.

Dr. Frank Mitloehner, of the University of California-Davis, is a strong proponent of telling the story of sustainability for the beef cattle industry. Mitloehner recently pushed back against Patrick Brown, founder of one of high profile plant-based burger patty manufacturer.
