With tariffs and trade disputes affecting agriculture, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has started programs to help alleviate the strain. The US Meat Export Federation (USMEF) is interested in one of these programs.
When the USDA rolled out their assistance programs for agriculture, the Agricultural Trade Promotion Program was one of those efforts. USMEF?s Vice President for International Marketing Greg Hanes explains how this can help them boost promotion of meat products impacted by tariffs.
Hanes says the program can help USMEF to promote trade in markets not directly affected by tariffs as well.
