An Iowa-Minnesota Coop Association pushes sustainability and how that can help you make a profit.

?Sustainability for farmers is the future,? Farmers Coop Association agronomy accounts manager Adam St. Germain says. ?We have to be more efficient and sustainable which leads to profitability. When we get sustainable practices, we start to see profitability.?

St. Germain says farmers should practice the 4R nutrient stewardship program.

?(That) is the right rate, right source, right place, and right time. We?ve really started to implement a lot to our growers with split application of nitrogen and put stabilizers to protect the nitrogen investment.?

St. Germain attended this year?s National Association of Farm Broadcasting Convention in Kansas City earlier this month.
