Using online data to study what consumers think about pork

by | Oct 5, 2022 | 5 Ag Stories, News

In 2022 there is a lot of data to show what consumers think about the food they eat. That extends to specific foods like pork. One way to see what consumers think about pork is viewing through the lens of social media.

Dr. Jayson Lusk, head of Ag Economics at Purdue University says that viewing the conversations about pork online lead to a bigger picture to draw from the online data dashboards.

Lusk says the data dashboards from Purdue University make our food system more understandable by consumers and producers. You can even break down the data by state.

Lusk says the consumer dashboard still includes traditional news outlets as well.
