USDA Veterinarian talks disease traceability

We heard it during the World Pork Expo in June, ?the next animal disease outbreak is a matter of when, not if.? African Swine Fever is a hot topic right now. There are also concerns about Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD). An FMD bank is a goal of many livestock organizations and a subject of debate in the 2018 Farm Bill negotiations. The biggest concern we have to any disease is our ability to act.
