Outlooks from the U.S. Department of Agriculture show near or above-normal precipitation is in the forecast for the Midwest from March 9-15.

USDA Meteorologist Brad Rippey recently provided a national weather outlook for the second week of March.

With the warmer temperatures Iowa and other Midwestern states have experienced over the last couple weeks, Rippey talks about the importance of snowpack and drought, especially as spring approaches.

On another weather-related note, Rippey says it is too early to say whether the La Nina climate pattern will dissipate later this year.
