Last week, we discussed how the USDA proposes cutting the amount of dairy and milk provided under the WIC program. However, the proposals on dairy do not end there. You may not want to hear this for those school-aged kids, but the USDA is now proposing that chocolate and other flavored kinds of milk be removed from school meal service in elementary and middle schools across the country.

Chocolate and other flavored kinds of milk are some of the highest consumed by kids in the school meal program. Matt Herrick is the Senior Vice President of Public Affairs and Communications for the International Dairy Foods Association. He talks about the proposal and the argument that IDFA is making to support keeping the flavored kinds of milk in the school meal program.

Herrick encourages people to weigh in during the public comment period.
