The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is issuing a 10-year projection of farm income and a range of other issues that would indicate supply, demand and population changes.

The Agency?s long-term agricultural projections are a departmental consensus on a long-run representative scenario for the agricultural sector for the next decade. The projections are based on specific assumptions regarding macroeconomic conditions, policy, weather, and international developments, with no domestic or external shocks to global agricultural markets.

Erik Dahlman serves as the domestic baseline coordinator for the Economic Research Service (ERS). He further describes the proposed 10-year baseline forecast.
