Animal disease threats are something we know is happening. Just look at African Swine Fever. Many have been pushing for the U.S. to be more prepared. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is working on such a preparedness program.
USDA Undersecretary Greg Ibach discussed a framework for an animal disease traceability program.
Ibach says they really want to improve education at local levels.
Ibach says USDA won?t house the data, they just need access to it in the event of an outbreak.
