U.S. Ethanol Production Down

According to EIA data, ethanol production averaged 1.010 million barrels per day (b/d)?or 42.42 million gallons daily. That is down 17,000 b/d (1.7%) from the week before. The four-week average for ethanol production was 1.007 b/d, for an annualized rate of 15.44 billion gallons.

Stocks of ethanol were 22.7 million barrels, down 3.1% from last week and the lowest level in nine weeks.
There were zero imports recorded for the second week in a row.

Average weekly gasoline demand surged to 407.6 million gallons (9.704 million barrels) daily, the highest level since mid-August 2016. However, refiner/blender input of ethanol dipped slightly from last week?s 40-week high, falling 0.2% to 949,000 b/d.

Expressed as a percentage of daily gasoline demand, daily ethanol production was 10.41%?the lowest rate of the year so far.
