Agricultural interests are optimistic that a new bilateral trade deal with Japan can become a reality.

A host of agricultural groups recently testified before the U.S. Trade Representative?s (USTR) Office, which is seeking industry input.

Kevin Kester, of California, was one of those who testified on behalf of the cattle industry. In a recent conversation with Radio Oklahoma Ag Network farm director Ron Hays, he remarked that getting a deal done with Japan as expeditiously as possible, is of the greatest importance to cattle producers who will face a significant disadvantage once the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) is finally ratified.
