This is a Warning

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. -Romans 6:23

We all have a little bit of dare devil in us.

Yesterday, a warning label caught my eye. I got to thinking. I am going to continue with this knowing the consequences of my decision, hoping it just doesn’t apply to me.

We do this daily.

When a cigarette warns us against death, we continue to smoke.

When a tanning bed warns against cancer, we continue to tan.

When police warn us against texting and driving, we continue to text behind the wheel.

When alcohol warns against liver failure, we continue to binge drink.

When chips warns against obesity, we continue to snack.

We think we are invincible enough to not heed warning.

Sometimes I feel as if we think the warning just doesn’t apply to us. We test the limits, until it’s too late.

The Bible says that the cost of sin is hell without the redemption of Jesus forgiving our sins.

How often do we see that warning, and continue on our way with our sin filled lives? We test the limits, assuming the warning doesn’t apply to us, until it’s too late.

Refuse to miss the warning of sin. Understand the harm it has in your life today, tomorrow, and for eternity!

Prayer: “God, thank you for warning me about the consequences of my sin. Help me to acknowledge my wrong doings and turn to you. In your name I pray, Amen.”
