Financial advisors and Ag lenders have had to get creative in finding ways to help producers keep operating in these difficult and uncertain times. However, as the strain on farmers? balance sheets continues to mount, the options are becoming more limited.

Todd Van Hoose is the President and CEO of the Farm Credit Council. He tells us while farmers came into this downturn in decent shape, three to five years of low prices are taking their toll.

Van Hoose says farmers have their backs against the wall in a time where they cannot predict profitability.

Van Hoose says a disaster bill, which remains in limbo, would go a long way to help farmers recover from disaster losses.
