The Struggle is Different

More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope. -Romans 5:3-4

I recently took a trip to Haiti. The area that I went was in the mountains.

I knew I was out of shape, but I didn’t realize how out of shape I was until I tried climbing up a mountain.

I also didn’t realize how out of shape I was until I looked beside me and there was ladies literally walking up with 5 gallon buckets of water on their head.

The struggle of climbing up the mountain was not a struggle for those ladies, but it was for me.

Looking around I received a deeper understanding that people struggle differently.

Things that are easy for me may not be easy for others. Things that are easy for others, may not be easy for me.

Rest assured today that there is a God who cares about your struggles, walks with you through them, and understands that we struggle differently.

Prayer: “God, thank you for the gentle reminder that my struggles are not crazy. Thank you for understanding them and walking with me through them.”
