The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands. -Psalm 19:1
I have a list of favorites. My favorite things are my husband, the ocean, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, puppies, the color blue, Escalades, TJ MAXX, Chicken Alfredo, Summer, and so much more. I have a lot of favorites. I don’t think I realized how many things are my “favorite things” until my boyfriend at the time (now husband) said, “I thought I was your favorite” or “You said that this was your favorite!”
Even though I have a lot of favorites, I would say that the sky is at the top of my favorites list. I love walking outside and gazing at the sky after a long day of work, or a stressful situation, or a season filled with exhaustion. The sky never looks the same, there are different looking clouds, different colors, and different stars. There is stormy sky, sunny sky, rainy sky, cloudy sky, starry sky, and even rainbows in the sky.
How great of an artist is God? He paints the most beautiful of sceneries. I love the sky, because it reminds me in the chaos of my day that God is steady and constant. The fact that God reveals his power and authority with the sky, shows just how awesome He is. He owns the sky and still want our hearts.
Friend, do you realize that the God of the universe, who changes the sky day after day calls you and I beloved? He spoke and the earth came to pass, and yet he desires an intimate relationship with us. Have you noticed the sky lately? Better yet, have you noticed the artist painting the sky? Just as the sky is his masterpiece, so are you!
Prayer: “God, I acknowledge you as an incredible artist. Thank you for creating the most beautiful things out of life, the sky, and me.”
