A recent survey shows young farmers expects to overcome major barriers in becoming successful within the agriculture industry. However, the survey claims their success will require deliberate policy change on all government levels.

Young farmers plan to tackle barriers such as access to land, affordable healthcare and mounting student loan debt. Young farmers cited land access as their top challenge, particularly when it comes to finding and affording land on a farm income.

The survey, conducted by the National Young Farmers Coalition, collected data from more than 3,517 current, former and aspiring farmers under 40-years-old. A full version of the survey can be found at www.youngfarmers.org.
