An agricultural company is helping solve real world issues facing growers by delivering naturally derived solutions.

Cytozyme has been providing growers crop solutions for over 40 years, mostly outside of the United States. The company launched more aggressively into the Midwest row crop market in 2018.

Cytozyme marketing manager Jeff Morgan says the company?s products help crops from the word ?go.? He first discusses a seed treatment, helping plants overcome early obstacles.

?Seed+ is a seed treatment product. There?s a dry and liquid version,? Morgan said. ?It allows us to activate some metabolic pathways in the plant. That allows us to increase activity in the plant across the board. We see a host of benefits like improved tolerance to stress, increased antioxidant activity and photosynthesis. In terms of a seed treatment, you?re going to see early, bigger, quicker germination and healthy plants that survive.?

Cytozyme offers a product similar to Seed+, called Crop+. Morgan says the foliar applied product mixes well with tank mixes and supports crop growth.

?It?s a great opportunity for a farmer to reduce the effect of stress and keep the plant actively growing during that period, so we have root development, micronutrient uptake, antioxidant activity and photosynthesis,? Morgan said. ?We keep the plant healthy then, throughout the middle part of the season, the growing, vegetative stage.?

Farmers report seeing a “clear difference” after using Seed+ and/or Crop+. Morgan says farmers enjoy the flexibility of Seed+.

“Farmers seem to like the dry formulation because they have control of their seed treatment,” Morgan said. ?They can go right out and put it in the hopper. The seed mixes well; it doesn?t clog any equipment. And, it saves them a little money, so they get a better ROI.?
