Jim Spradlin has announced his intent to retire as CEO of GROWMARK effective February 28, 2022.

Serving as CEO since September of 2014, Spradlin has worked within the GROWMARK System since 1982. He joined the FS/GROWMARK System as an accounting trainee at Schuyler-Brown FS. He has served in many leadership roles over his career including as the general manager of Piatt County Service Company and Ag-Land FS, positions on GROWMARK?s regional staff, and as vice president for GROWMARK?s Agronomy and Energy business units.

Shortly after GROWMARK announced its partnership with Southern States last August, Spradlin told the network he was proud of GROWMARK?s continued efforts to enhance customer service and invest in innovation.

?Every dollar we spend we know is a farmer?s dollar,? said Spradlin. ?We are truly investing heavily in innovation. That ranges from in the field, agronomic technologies, to e-commerce capabilities, and it also extends to technologies that enhance our responsiveness to customers and a drive for efficiency.?

The GROWMARK Board of Directors have initiated a search process for Spradlin?s replacement. A press release from the company stated the board hopes a new CEO will be named in the fall.

Retirement celebration arrangements to honor Spradlin?s career will be planned and communicated by the company in the coming weeks.
