While we have been focusing on the higher rainfall totals these past couple of days, folks in Southern Iowa are wishing they could take some of the moisture off our hands.

Rebecca Vittetoe of Iowa State Extension tells us that conditions are dry in Southern Iowa.

Vittetoe says what rain has fallen has been very sporadic.

Vittetoe talks about some of the pests and diseases southern Iowa producers should watch for. In corn it is gray leaf spot.

In soybeans, it is spider mites.

Vittetoe explains alfalfa producers are having a pest problem as well.
