Brazil completed its safrinha corn harvest, so the markets are shifting a bit of focus back that way. As that corn enters the marketplace, we?ll see our prices change from the competition. Allendale commodity broker Greg McBride provided an update on the weather patterns for Brazil and Argentina.
McBride also provided a planting update for both countries.
It may feel weird to talk about planting right now, but South America?s climate is just right for a continuous growing season. McBride said it?s similar to some of the southern parts of the U.S.
Aside from the crops, McBride said it?s also important to keep an eye on the value of the currencies in South America.
McBride provided some advice for Iowa producers as well.
