by | May 23, 2023 | 5 Ag Stories, News

The weather in South America is still cooperating with farmers for the end of the current harvest season. Allendale commodity broker Greg McBride provided an update on the weather patterns for Brazil and Argentina.

Brazil?s soybean harvest is all but completed at this point, and McBride said the first crop corn harvest is close to finishing as well.

Argentina?s harvest is moving at a slower rate, but it has made a jump in progress from last week.

Something to keep an eye on is the difference in estimates between the USDA and other analysts for Argentina?s crop, as other analysts have their estimates about 5 million metric tons below the USDA.

McBride also provided some advice for Iowa producers.
