Once again, the weather in South America is favorable for Brazil, but it is still very dry in Argentina. This means that Brazil is anticipating a great crop, while Argentinian farmers are hoping they can get a crop in the ground at all. Allendale commodity broker Greg McBride provided an update on the latest weather patterns in South America.

McBride said the dry weather in Argentina is still keeping them very behind on planting progress.

In the U.S., we would normally welcome dry conditions during planting season. However, McBride said the sandy South American soil needs a lot more moisture than ours.

On the other side of things, McBride said Brazil is making great progress on planting.

McBride also provided some advice for Iowa producers.
