The Senate Ag Committee passed their version of the Farm Bill with a vote of 20-1.

Senate Ag Committee Chairman Pat Roberts (R-KS) says their version of the Farm Bill was a truly bi-partisan effort.

Senator Roberts is confident the bill will move on the Senate Floor as early as next week.

Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley voted against the bill because of concerns over his amendment, which wasn?t included. Roberts says there is time to work out Senator Grassley?s concerns on the floor of the Senate.

The House Version of the Farm Bill has been more contentious, both in form and in movement through the House. Roberts says a conference committee needs to happen soon, so the House better get on with it.

Roberts has every confidence in the Farm Bill getting done.
