Senator Joni Ernst talked with media on several topics important to Iowans on Thursday, including agriculture.

While the House Version of the Farm bill is being hotly debated, the Senate has yet to put anything together. Senator Ernst says she cornered Senate Ag Committee Chairman Pat Roberts (R-KS) and asked him what was happening.

Chairman Roberts informed Senator Ernst there are some hang-ups that are slowing things down.

So, what is the time table on a Senate Farm Bill?

On the topic of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Pruitt?s handling of waivers and fellow Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley?s loss of patience, Ernst had this to say:

Senator Ernst made the comment more than once, “If we do not have our [The U.S. Senate] work done, we shouldn’t be going home for an August recess”.
