Senator Joni Ernst helps spread the word about Iowa pork producers at the state fair. Ernst visited with fairgoers at the Iowa Pork Producers Tent Monday.
She says IPPA is a great association.
?They do some many great things for the public. They also do education products and make sure consumers know great ways to serve pork to their families and that it is a lean source of protein.?
She says also stopping by the tent gives folks a chance to talk to actual hog producers.
?I raised hogs on a very small family farm. It was great to be engaged in such a wonderful part of agriculture because you really did learn where your food came from. Love the fact I was able to engage with my family and it taught me how to work hard and understand how the food chain works.?
Ernst adds the pork chop on a stick is still her favorite fair food.
