Senate grants Russia PNTR

By a vote of 92 to 4, the U.S. Senate voted Thursday to grant Russia Permanent Normal Trade Relations.

Legislation granting Russia PNTR was passed by the House on November 16 with a vote of 365-43. If signed by the president, the legislation would allow the US to double its exports to Russia over the next 5 years.

The bill is now moves to the President’s desk for approval. If the president fails to sign it within the next ten days, the bill will automatically take effect.
