After much questioning and speculation, the Senate Ag Committee marked up their version of the Farm Bill today. The bi-partisan bill passed almost unanimously. It was not without some disagreements.

As the meeting to mark-up the farm bill proceeded, Chairman Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS) said that this legislation is paramount to all others.

Ranking member Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) says this was truly a bi-partisan effort to bring stability to farmers who are floundering.

The biggest shot in the arm for farmers came from Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) when he gave a timetable for the Farm Bill.

The Bill passed out of the committee with only one vote against.
