The Trump Administration has announced another round of tariffs. Tariffs to the tune of 200 billion dollars. Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig had reactions to this information.

This tariff increase comes on top of about 53 billion in existing duties. China has already increased tariffs against U.S. ag products. Iowa Ag Secretary Mike Naig says that while China needs to come to the table and change their practices, we cannot do it on the backs of Iowa farmers and businesses.
Secretary Naig says while farmers understand the reasons for these trade disputes, the effects feel very real.
Naig says we need to get a solid footing with a NAFTA deal and then, “play offense on trade.”
