The agricultural industry is always looking for ways to invest in the next generation.

A common method is through financial donations.

The Iowa Foundation for Agricultural Advancement (IFAA) works to ensure a future for Iowa agriculture. Each year, its donor members offer financial donations, which then benefit the younger generation.

?The Iowa Foundation for Agricultural Advancement (IFAA) is a non-profit organization comprised of agriculture enthusiasts who want to help the future of Iowa agriculture financially, whether that?s through the Sale of Champions, awards programs or scholarship programs. (In) everything we do, we?re raising money to give back to the youth of Iowa,? said IFAA scholarship chair Lexi Delaney.

Since 1988, IFAA has passed down over 2,300 scholarships, totalling $2.8 million. In 2018 alone, IFAA awarded 122 scholarships, or $188,500 to both incoming freshmen and upperclassmen.

The IFAA looks forward to awarding a similar amount of scholarship monies this year.

?The IFAA Winner Circle Scholarship is available to both incoming freshmen and upperclassmen enrolled in an agricultural program at any two- to four-year program in Iowa,? Delaney said. ?We want those students to be involved in agriculture and stay involved after graduation.?

Delaney encourages students to pay close attention to scholarship deadlines.

?Our application deadline for the upperclassmen is April and our application deadline for the incoming freshmen is May 1,? Delaney said. ?Those applications can be found at ifaa.org.?
