Running the Race

“You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.” -Hebrews 10:36

I?ve begun running again. In my case it means running, then walking, then running again.

I may not be the track athlete I once was, but I’m running again.

Most of my running includes panting, complaining, huffing, puffing, and whispering under my breath that I can’t do this.

Lately I’ve been reminded that in a race it?s not how you begin, but instead how you finish that counts.

Our spiritual race is not a short sprint. It?s a long distance race that requires commitment, stamina and perseverance.

Our walk with Christ doesn’t matter so much as to how we start it, but how we finish at the end of our life.

I?m now running with perseverance, and am no longer ashamed at my slow pace.

Perseverance is essential for successful living. It allows us to consistently pursue a goal or live out our beliefs, regardless of obstacles or difficulties.

His love is strong enough to save–not only for eternity but in this lifetime too.

He is our hope. He is the reason we run. What?s stopping you from running with perseverance today?

Prayer: “Heavenly Father, thank You for calling me into the race for the crown that will last forever. Help me to run with perseverance. In your name I pray, Amen.”
