Roberts pleased with Farm Bill passage

We have a new farm bill, almost. Only the President?s signature is lacking.

It went through both houses of Congress easily after the conference committee took out all politically offending measures. A group of conservative Republican senators voted against it, even though they knew it would pass.

The ease of the farm bill passage was in sharp contrast of all other efforts to assemble it in 2018.

Senator Pat Roberts, who serves as chairman of the Senate Agriculture Committee, knew it wasn’t going to be easy. Roberts was extremely pleased to see the new farm bill pass both chambers of Congress by an overwhelming margin. The Senator talked about how this bill literally involved everyone in agriculture, from farm to fork.
