The USDA?s Risk Management Agency (RMA) is reminding Iowa corn producers that April 29th is the deadline to report production for Yield Protection, Revenue Protection, and Revenue Protection with Harvest Price Exclusion for corn for the 2021 crop year. It is also the deadline to elect your Yield Adjustment options as well. This helps mitigate the effects of a catastrophic event, such as last year?s derecho.

Brian Friedan is the Acting Regional RMA director out of the St. Paul, Minnesota office. This office serves the state of Iowa. He talks about the upcoming deadline and why it is important for farmers to elect this coverage.

Because of coronavirus, there are options available to file this paperwork with RMA.

Farmers with crop insurance questions or needs should continue to contact their crop insurance agents about conducting business remotely (by telephone or email). More information can be found at farmers.gov/coronavirus.
