Sponsored by Pfizer Animal Health, this year’s National Cattlemen?s Beef Association?s Cattlemen?s College will provide hands-on workshops for all kinds of cattle producers.

The upcoming program will be held February 5-6, 2013, in Tampa, Florida, marking the first day of the 2013 Cattle Industry Convention and NCBA Trade Show. Early registration for Cattlemen?s College? and the convention ends January 11.

Cattlemen?s College workshops include reproductive technologies, low stress cattle handling principles, appropriate methods of moving cattle as a herd, penning techniques and pressure points in moving animals. On the second day, Dr. Lowell Catlett will give a keynote address, followed by more classes on topics such as preserving family relations on the ranch, consumer attitudes toward beef and beef production, how to cope with drought and high feed prices, animal welfare issues and how to identify risk factors that affect business? bottom line.
