Rathbun Lake links water quality to drinking water

Perhaps you like to spend Labor Day at one of Iowa?s lakes. They are used for recreation, but bigger lakes are also used as water supplies for many towns across the state. You do not get any more serious about ?water quality? than when you drink water from a source nearby.

I?ve had a long term-relationship with the Rathbun Regional Water Association. At the Farm Progress Show, I received an update from the work being done by Iowa?s second largest lake to work with upstream landowners and downstream water users to fulfill a major need for anyone living in rural Iowa…safe drinking water.
