Rain continues to slow farmers from getting into the field. Just like the crop, it varies on who?s began harvesting.

?Almost nobody has been in the fields over here. There has been a few but combine corn but it has been wet enough that no-one has gotten anything out,? Mether says.

Kurt Hora farms in Southeast Iowa.

?Our yields are the best every we?ve had on the farm. We took a plot out a week ago with 35 different varieties averaging 270 bushels per acre. I?ve seen more 300 bushel corn than I?ve ever had before,? Hora says.

State Climatologist Harry Hillaker says dry days are few and far between.

?There?s a fairly good chance of widespread rain again this coming weekend that is going to put a stop to fieldwork once again that is able to get started this week. Good news there is a warm period coming up to help dry some fields between rain events,? Hillaker says.

Hillaker adds majority of the state also should have seen frost by now but that?s not likely.
