Environmental Protection Agency Administrator (EPA) Scott Pruitt talked with Farm Broadcasters as part of the National Association of Farm Broadcasting?s (NAFB) Washington Watch.

EPA Administrator Pruitt led off his talk with an update on Waters of the United States (WOTUS) rule.

Pruitt says that the misunderstandings over jurisdiction is a big problem with the old WOTUS rule.

On the topic of the Renewable Fuels Standard (RFS), Pruitt says that he feels that the EPA is advancing changes and embodying adherence to the statute.

When asked to clarify the decision to hand out waivers to large refining companies. Pruitt states the decision is reached objectively, not subjectively. Pruitt maintains waivers are handed out according to the size of each refining facility, not their parent company. Pruitt says until Congress changes the statute, EPA will continue to administer accordingly.
