The Pro Farmer Midwest Crop Tour wrapped up for 2018, and corn and soybean yield estimates have been released. Not everything that we saw on tour was what we were expecting.

Pro Farmer?s Jeff Wilson talks about what he thought was some of the pleasant surprises on the trip.

Not everything we saw on the tour was good. In fact, parts of Iowa and Minnesota disappointed scouts too.

Wilson says producers need to be aware the markets are affected by more than what is out in your field. We are a global market now. Mother Nature can affect the trade anywhere in the world, not just your farm.

Pro Farmer released their estimates corn at 14.501 billion bu. With an average yield of 177.3 bu. per acre.

On soybeans, Pro Farmers is estimating 4.683 billion bu. and an average yield of 53.0 bu. per acre.

Now we play the waiting game.
