President’s plans disappoint Waterways Council

It appeared as though there was going to be increased funding for inland waterway improvements until the President?s plan and budget were released.

The Waterways Council voiced disappointment on multiple fronts. The group, which lobbies on behalf of the nation?s inland waterways and system users, got a double-dose of bad news last week with the President?s infrastructure plan and budget were released.

Waterways Council senior vice-president Deb Calhoun voiced her group?s reaction to the president?s proposed 22-percent cut to the Army Corps of Engineers? Fiscal Year 2019 Civil Works funding and his sweeping plan to privatize infrastructure.
