Potential for fall profit in cattle business

Its mid-August and cattle producers are looking at what may happen this fall.

The story today comes from the Southern Plains where a lot of calves go on to be stocker cattle on fall pasture and then enter into feedlots.

A livestock economist says the marketplace may be good for those who want to buy lightweight cattle and graze them to heavier weights which are attractive to feedlots. He also addresses the cost of feedlot gain with the expectation of a big corn crop.
