Today we focus on potassium, the third symbol of the N, P, and K macronutrients that growers apply for plants to use each year.

Potassium is one of the most important macronutrients for crops. Applications are common during the mid- to late growing season. Doug Picanso, field representative for Compass Minerals Plant Nutrition, says potassium plays various roles in keeping crops healthy.
