Pest pressures seen in corn planted into cover crops

Cover crops are becoming a very utilized tool as farmers look to keep nutrients where they belong and to make sure soils stay in place as well. For farmers who planted corn into cover crops this spring, pests like seed corn maggots, grubs and slugs may be more prevalent in those fields. In this week?s DuPont Pioneer Field Report, Account Manager Derek Hunker talks about this issue, as well as planting and replanting progress in his area of Seneca, Crawford and Wyandot Counties.
