Pelosi visits Iowa to hear from farmers

United States House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi listened to the concerns of Iowa Farmers outside of Polk City on the Aaron Lehman farm, Monday. Pelosi was hosted by the Iowa Farmers Union. Farmers brought their concerns forward ahead of house debate on the 2018 Farm Bill. There were many ag topics covered with the farmers in attendance.

On the marketplace and low commodity, Pelosi says we cannot allow the family farm to be exploited.

On the Renewable Fuels Standard (RFS), Pelosi expressed concern with the waivers being granted.

On the topic of the Farm Bill, Pelosi says it is more a disagreement over the budget than it is partisan Politics.

When asked if a compromise can be found on the farm bill, Pelosi said the Farm Bill is on the wrong path and will need to be rewritten.
