AUDIO: RCIS insurance adjuster Rick Frenzen

An insurance adjuster on the Farm Journal Midwest Crop Tour says he saw less crop damage in eastern Nebraska this year than last.
Rick Frenzen is a claims adjuster for Rural Claims Insurance Services (RCIS) covering eastern Nebraska.
?We saw good crops but not great crops. Didn?t see a lot of poor crops either. For corn, in our tour stops we had anywhere from 118 bpa to 235 bpa. Of course one is dryland one is irrigated but we averaged on our 14 stops we made, 165 bpa,? Frenzen says.
Frenzen scouted on the tour last year. He says he didn?t see many fields with green snap like the year before.
?No there wasn?t. We?ve been working claims this summer and we did not have the green snap claims we had last year. We had a lot of claims for light hail throughout the area but not enough to do a lot of damage but not like last year,? Frenzen says.
RCIS sponsors portions of the crop tour along with DuPont Pioneer.
Scouts travel up the western side of Iowa Wednesday.
They stop in Spencer tomorrow night.
