New Zealand a growing market for US pork

When we discuss trade nowadays, we are usually discussing NAFTA or China. We are wrapped up in the uncertainty prevailing in those stories. Today, we are going to focus on a partnership going right with New Zealand.

A group of New Zealand importers has come to the U.S. to learn about the meat industry. They have been meeting with producers and packers. One of these visitors is Mark Robson of the Shore Mariner company. Robson says he is impressed with the size and scale of meat production in the U.S.

Pork consumption continues to grow in New Zealand. The average person there consumes 18 kilograms of pork or 39 and a half pounds. New Zealand imports 70 percent of their pork consumed.
