AUDIO: Western Leg Scout Tim Gregerson talks Northeast Nebraska crops.

Scouts saw decent corn but variable soybeans on the Farm Journal Midwest Crop Tour through northeast Nebraska Monday.

Tim Gregerson of Herman, Nebraska was on route 4 out of 10 heading through north central and northeast Nebraska.

?I was pretty impressed with the plant health. I was curious with the various amounts of rainfall this year and patchy dry areas in Nebraska with the irrigation passes being up, how the quality would be. It was fairly disease free and didn?t see many bugs,? Gregerson says.

Gregerson says beans were all over the place.

?Beans were all over the board in maturity. There were a lot of flat pods out there. The pod count seemed average to me. I think some beans were planted later this year but potential is still there.?

The tour is sponsored by DuPont Pioneer.

Scouts drive through central and southern Nebraska today.

Nebraska results will be released tonight.
